Google+ Got Games Now. Angry Birds, City Of Wonder and a Lot More

Google’s social networking dream, Google+ now has games too. A few Google+ users have started seeing the new Google+ Games tab on top of their streams since Thursday. Well, that is a good thing !

Google’s much hyped social network has partnered with Rovio, Zynga and Wooga and is providing some of their games like Angry Birds, City of Wonder, Zynga poker and some other games. This feature is available only for selected few as of now. “Games will be gradually rolling out so you might not see it right away,” a Google rep says. You can read the official report in the Google’s Official Blog.

“That means giving you control over when you see games, how you play them and with whom you share your experiences, Vic Gundotra, senior vice president of engineering at Google wrote on Thursday. “Games in Google+ are there when you want them and gone when you don’t.” Likewise, your scores will only be displayed to people in one of your circles when they themselves are interested in playing games too. “If you’re not interested in games, it’s easy to ignore them,” Gundotra writes. “Your stream will remain focused on conversations with the people you care about.”

Zynga’s popular titles like Farmville, Cityville aren’t available in Google+ yet. But, there is no information on whether it’ll be available in the future or not. But Google+ games will sure make users stay in Google+ for a longer time, if it has a wide library of games to choose from and that will surely affect Facebook.

Google+ Vs Facebook

Hours after Google+ games were announced, Facebook introduced certain added games features like the Game Ticker which will display high scores and achievements by your friends in a right-hand column, similar to the chat sidebar.

The fight between Google+ and Facebook is intensifying day by day and it is we the end users who will be enjoying the benefits of it. Google+ games surely would have made the guys at Palo Alto go berserk. I am hoping a lot from Google+ games. let us see what it has to offer in the future.

If you haven’t got Google+ games yet, take a look at this video to get an idea of how Games in Google+ would look like.
