All said that the Finnish mobile giant was lagging in the smartphone race, but it bounced back with its Lumia series featuring Windows Phone 7. Now when everyone was preparing to say adieu to Symbian, Nokia has announced a monster 41 MP sensor in a Nokia Phone with the Symbian Belle OS at the MWC which is going on now at Barcelona, Spain.
With that said, this is one of the advanced camera in any phone. Nokia created records by launching the Nokia N8 which featured the first 12 MP camera in a smartphone, with the PureView, Nokia has set an outstanding benchmark for smarphone cameras.
Nokia has made this happen by combining Carl Zeiss optics and Nokia-developed pixel over-sampling technology. Nokia uses its home-bred PureView technology in this device. PureView technology will be a part of future devices as well, so we can expect smartphones with humongous MP counts in the near future.
The 808 PureView also features something called Rich Recording, which lets you record “crisp, clear audio (…) up to a thumping 140 decibels,” says Nokia.
Now let us take a look at the hardware specifications that power this monster.
