Top 5 Siri Like Apps for Android

With the advent of the iPhone 4s, Siri has stolen the hearts of all Apple fan boys and others too. But for Android, which first bought voice commands, doesn’t have something like Siri by default. But Android developers can’t accept defeat in anything. So they came up with a lot of Siri like apps for android.

These Apps are your personal digital assistants, who will answer your questions and do what you ask them to do, like making a call, sending a text, finding directions and lot more. They can even do some casual talk too.

So lets check out the Top 5 Siri like apps for Android. These aren’t arranged in any particular order.

[stextbox id=”info”]#1 Iris[/stextbox]

My Personal favorite, Iris is comically named as the reverse of S-I-R-I >> I-R-I-S. It does it’s job well and good. The voice recognition is top notch. Iris can do a lot of things, though it is in the alpha stage. It can only call/text someone and lookup a contact in your phone other than answering questions using Google. Anyways, it is a fun thing to play with. We recently reviewed Iris here.

[stextbox id=”info”]#2 Skyvi[/stextbox]

Skyvi is more social network friendly and it can help you in updating your facebook and twitter updates. It also answer your questions and lookup for local businesses etc.. But it can’t do all that Siri does.

[stextbox id=”info”]#3 Speaktoit Assistant[/stextbox]

It is one of the best. In Speaktoit Assistant, you can personalize the looks of your PA. It has loads of functions and is much closer to Siri. The only drawback is that, the voice recognition is not perfect and it looks up for wrong terms most of the times.

[stextbox id=”info”]#4 Jeanie[/stextbox]

Jeanie sports a different user interface when compared to others, and uses Google’s voice recognition, so it is more or less accurate. It answers simple questions and sets remainders and calls/text people and other regular mumbo jumbo.

[stextbox id=”info”]#5 Vlingo[/stextbox]

Vlingo has been there for a long time. It is one of the robust and really useful virtual assistants out there. It can call/text people, lookup restaurants, give directions, update your fb/twitter statuses, set reminders, answers your questions and lot more. The speech recognition is also good. The best part is that, it features a special mode that you can use it while driving.

So we have compiled the top 5 Siri like apps for your android phone. Now what are you waiting for ? Go and download one and start playing with it.
