WikiLeaks to Halt Publishing Due to Financial Problems

WikiLeaks, the non-profit organisation, headed by Julian Assange, is the only best online source to get leaked news private and secret news related to any media, organisation. WikiLeaks has exposed a wide range of unknown, hidden facts to the people of the world. This site by “The Sunshine Press” within one year of it’s launch in 4 Oct. 2006, had 1.2M documents.

Now, as you read in the title, this site has been suffering from a few financial problems from the past one year. Many of the popular money transfer services like Visa Inc., PayPal, MasterCard Inc. and eBay Inc. have stopped transactions involving WikiLeaks. Due to this, WikiLeaks lost ten of millions of pounds and is in a peril danger to continue it’s operation of leaking all the stuff the world never knew.

This financial blockade is an existential threat to WikiLeaks. If the blockade is not torn down by the end of the year, the organisation cannot continue it’s work.” said Julian Assange, the founder of WikiLeaks, said in a press meet.

WikiLeaks is now forced to temporarily suspend all publishing operations in order to direct all our resources into fighting the blockade and raising funds.” said Julain Assange to the journalists at the Frontline Club.

From Oct. 24, WikiLeaks has started a new campaign called “WikiLeaks Needs You” and started to collect donations from people. People round the world can now contribute to WikiLeaks so that it remains stable as it were earlier. But with the lack of money transfer services, the donation process became a little tough. To get donations from people in alternatives modes, WikiLeaks has started many new methods for paying. More information on donating to WikiLeaks can be found here.

The first page of the site clearly says “We are forced to temporarily suspend publishing whilst we secure our economical survival. For almost an year we have been fighting an unlawful financial blockade. We cannot allow giant US finance companies to decide how the whole world votes with its pocket. Our battles are costly. We need your support to fight back. Please donate now.” added with a small video below.

This donation is not just for it’s survival but for the welfare of the people of the world to get to know the never-revealed facts that have been going on in this world. If you want WikiLeaks to continue it’s job of revealing news that is going on in this world, make sure that you contribute at least a little to the site. WikiLeaks Needs You.
